- Somerfield needed to differentiate their brand and become a leader in local convenience retailing
- A major national store refurbishment programme was planned over two years – which we could influence
- We needed to persuade previous Somerfield brand rejecters that Somerfield had changed for the better
The Solution
- Worked with the Strategic Brand Development party at Somerfield on consultancy and strategic level
- Worked with store architects and designers to develop unique tone of voice for different catchment types
- Created the Market Fresh tone of voice, visual cues and all marketing communication in store and externally.
The Outcome
- 98% awareness in catchment following our campaigns
- Sales uplifts of up to 230% as new customers explore the Somerfield brand and existing customer bases were maintained.
- Market Fresh in store environment and communication won retail awards and is being extended to 60 more stores nationwide.
